How to change activation key?

I gave my old PC (with an activated copy of Start8) to my son (who no longer lives with me), so I bought another license for me since the both of us having the same copy with the same license seemed wrong. How do I apply my new product key to the copy of Start8 running on my remaining PC? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but was never prompted to re-activate.

Go to c:\programdata\stardock\registrations and you should see a start8 bin file.  Delete that and Start8 will prompt for activation again.
