"Pin to start" doesn't work

I'm using v1.40 and windows 8.1 update 1. I open the start menu and click "All programs" i then find google chrome, right click and select "pin to start" but it just doesn't work. I've tried closing the start menu but chrome still isn't there. Please fix this.

Are you picking the one with (Start8) after it as the other one would pin to the OS fullscreen start menu.

oh, i just saw that there is a "pin to start menu" option in addition to "pin to start". You really should put those next to each other as i didn't see it.

Im using version 1.41 and there's still issues with Windows' "Pin to Start" when the Start8 program/service is active.

You can't even "Unpin from Start", move, resize or re-arrange any tiles. The problem goes away when I disable the Start8 service and do a log off/log on.

I've purchased Start8 coz i really like it, but this bug is very frustating. Please fix asap!

I think you may be talking about something very different.

The original thread was about a right click menu item in Start8 where it turned out the user was clicking the one to pin it to the Windows 8 style menu rather than the Windows 7 style one.  The solution is to use the other one and the issue was solved for them.

By the sounds of it you are reporting an issue with the Windows 8 menu.  Start8 should not be impacting the ability to pin, or move / rearrange tiles in that and I am not aware of anything even remotely similar being reported with Start8.

If you have WindowBlinds installed there was an issue with the right click menu on the Windows 8 menu, but that was resolved in a WindowBlinds update.

I recommend you contact support@stardock.com so they can collect more information.
