What is the exact status of this product?

Hi,

 

I'm somewhat confused by the different details I find on KeepSafe. First I'd like to say I'm very interested to buy it. Being a techie, several of my family members (> 10) rely on my wisdom and experience to tame the mighty beast that is their pc. So I can use all the help I can get ;-)

 

Now, on the product page I read:

System Requirements ● For use with Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 (32-bit), Vista (32-bit), and Windows XP (32-bit)

 

Which seems to imply it's ready for use with Windows 8 64-bit, right?

As I don't see the exception being made in the first mentioning.

 

When I download the trial version however, I'm presented with this popup:

Also this Forum category seems to have been weirdly hidden away, and while the KeepSafe product is featured prominently on your product overview www.stardock.com/products/ , I read that the suite to which it belonged (ThinkDesk) has been discontinued 5 years ago.

 

I'd love to get this if it actually works as advertized (with Windows 8 64-bit support included).

So can someone please enlighten me on its status?

It will work on a 64 bit OS with an exception. 32 bit apps running on a 64 bit OS can have their files backed up. 64 bit apps running on a 64 bit OS will not be supported unfortunately.

What does the short term future of the product look like?

At this time I have not heard of plans for future development.
