Recently used apps list not showing apps pinned to the taskbar

Hello. I'm using the last stable version of Start8 on a fresh install of Windows 8.1.1 and the recently used apps list isn't showing more than 2 apps, no matter how many apps I open, and it never changes the two apps. Is there anything I could do? The setting is checked, by the way.

EDIT: Did some testing and apparently the problem relates to software being pinned to the taskbar and they don't show up. If I disable one, it shows up quickly. I don't know if this is intentional, but I think it defeats the purpose of showing the most recently used apps.

CanI then suggest an option to revert back to the previous functionality? I understand the advantage of not having that way, but options are always good.

That is also the behaviour of Windows 7.

You can disable that if you wish by adding the a registry key to the usual Start8 registry keys location (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\stardock\start8\start8.ini\Start8) called DoNotExcludeTaskbarPinned and make it a REG_SZ entry with a value of 1.
