Dragging desktop icons

OK, I am new here, and have spent some time trawling the forums, but cannot find my answer.......

 

I am running windows 8.1 Pro 64

Installed deskscape 8.1 trial

 

Everything went to plan and everything seems to work perfectly........... except

 

I cannot drag any icons around on my desktop.  A rather large circle with a line through it appears when I try to do so.  It is certainly not a windows icon.  I can open desktop folders and double click applications on my desktop - I just cannot drag them.

 

I have uninstalled, rebooted, refreshed.... every kind of 're' I have tried but still no dragging. 

 

I have locked the taskbar/desktop, arranged icons, aligned icons, shown desktop icons - you name it - I've fiddled with it

 

I saw one suggestion of pausing the scene, but I still cannot drag. 

 

Oh, and if I delete deskscape, I can drag once more!

 

Thus far, apart from this issue it is the best proggy I have found, but It is an essential feature I want.....

 

Any suggestions would be gratefully received

I'm running Windows 8.1 64 and DeskScapes 8 and I can drag stuff on my desktop

I don't use fences ..

All works fine for me ... :thumbsup:

Does it happen with all of the included dreams or only certain ones?

same here : because comodo firewall , i dunno how to autorize ds8 to move icons.

Same error.. I can prove this is a DeskScapes 8.49 beta issue on windows 10 x64 at lest..

Fresh clean install WITH NOTHING beside desk scape 8.49 installed.. the moment i installed the icons are locked. rebooting dose not help

Can also confirm the locked icon issue. It goes away when I apply a static wallpaper but when I switch back to a .dream they lock again. I am also on the beta version on Windows 10 Pro x64.

 

And now all of a sudden after a reboot I can drag icons with a dream running. So now there seems to be no repeatable reason as to why icons are locking.
