What an honor writing to you sir. In answer to your question, I have CCCleaner, Spybot-S&D, both pros;and also use avast!, again the pro version. They have never blocked anything that I did not want them to. Now, I changed my avatar, and also put in a personal image, and they went into the "images" part of the account with no problem. However, the old avatar stayed on my posts, and also on the "user information" part of my profile. Now, this was quite annoying, so I worked at it and was able to remove them. This, I believe caused the current problem. The new avatar and personal image disappeared, and when I try to add them back, I get a message: "The image you have selected (xxxxx.jpg) does not meet the size requirements. Please try again". I have tried to set a number of different pictures in the avatar, all of the correct size, and even smaller, down to 50x50, but still the same message. This is also the time that I noticed that my forum pic as well as everyone else's was gone. The rest of the info is there- yours for example: kryo, Join Date 05/2003, +403, and the grand Stardock, but no picture. Now, pictures do exist; but only the basic picture of people who haven't chosen a picture. On this forum, it is the alien, and on the GalCiv is the man's face. Everyone else's avatar showed until I was able to pull my old one, which again, started the major problem, in my opinion.
Now comes the rub. I do not remember how/where I removed them. I should have written it down. You see, I have cancer. Now, this is not the important thing, but during my treatment(s) my immune system was compromised, and I was stricken by a particularly bad virus. It took me 5 weeks to get over it. Just 1 week in the hospital (good), and the other 4 weeks at home. I had to take three 2 hour IVs a day for those 5 weeks, but I survived. Unfortunately, I received brain damage. Now, I can still remember most things; I was a chef for ~40 years, studying in Provence, Italy, and from coast to coast. I could write a thousand recipes, no problem, and have replayed GalCiv2, and had no problem. It is just some of the smaller, recent things that I sometimes have a problem with, and we are back to the rub.
I have been dealing with Brad Ather, he has been very helpful, all things considered, and was able to place the new avatar up, so at least it can be seen by others, which is great, but I would like to see them as well. It is [#HIE-897-76635], and I will send this to him if you don't mind, because this info was going his way anyway. He's a good man, and I'm glad that he picked this one up. (happier than he is, I'm sure) ,-)
