Any working Desktop Weather Gadgets for XP ?

Any working Desktop Weather Gadgets for XP ?

I used to use adni18's Desktop Weather Gadget , but for whatever reason it no longer works/is discontinued  , i have been temporarily using the Weather Channel Gadget , but it constantly crashes   , i tried to get the Accu Weather Gadget but all i keep getting is some stupid download Zip program that i dont want , that is not the gadget , i cant find a way to just download the gadget

this is the site and when you click on any of the download links supposedly to the gadget it wants to download/install some toolbar blocker thing and a Zip installer , that i do not want  , all i want is the stupid gadget not all the other invasive crap

http://accuweather-com-stratus.software.informer.com/

What i am looking for is a small non invasive Desktop Weather Gadget that is small and will sit in the corner of my desktop , not take up the entire desktop to view the weather conditions/forecast , similar to or wishfully thinking like Adni18's gadget , this needs to be for Windows XP

Any help would be appreciated ....Thanks ....Jim

Shouldn't matter, but as noted, I can't be sure that everything works on XP, I have 7 and 8.

XP is gonna be iffy. Most of my work contains scripts that may/may not work on XP. All I can say is that my tester, who uses XP, has no problems with my weather.

Wizard tests about everything I make and his holds location. So it must be something on your rig.

Close the gadget/widget. Go to Documents, find a folder called WU_Weather, delete it.

Open the weather gadget again and it should make a new one, fixing your problem.

Now is this for the Adni18 Weather , or yours ?? , there is no WU_Weather in my folder

For mine, there must be a WU Weather folder in Documents. If not, there is your problem.

If running my gadget/widget doesn't create one, something on your system is preventing it's creation, and therein lies the problem. When you run the widget, mine, click the info button, then click the logo, it should open the folder where the data is kept.

If you don't have that data, the location isn't stored.

Jim, download the zip from this link. Unzip it into my documents on XP. restart the weather, if you're using mine. (Not gonna help Adni's)

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2813944/WU_Weather.zip

It may be set to Illinois at first, but it should work once you put in your zip.

Thanks to Wizard1956 for the zip used. He has XP.

Since I use RnD's gadgets/widgets for the most part, I seldom use any other weather widgets by any other skinner. All of his work fine on XP/7/8.

However, I just tried two from Adni18 from the links in this thread and they do not save location. Just closing it and reopening will cause a loss in settings. You will have to contact Nikos about fixing them, or use one of RedneckDudes.

If you don't see one you like in his rather large gallery, ask him if he'll make you a custom job. If you can describe it, he can skin it.

Tell him Wiz sent ya. ;)

Well, I have bad news. As of today, all my weather widgets and gadgets have stopped working. Worked fine yesterday. Today, nothing. They just sit there, won't refresh, can't change location, no forecast.

I'm guessing we've lost the Weather Underground feed.  Bummer.
