moving shortcuts (from dekstop, to tile) not working

So I purchased Tiles (actually, the full Stardock product, previously I 'only' had purchased FencesPro).

Objective: to get rid of the clutter on my desktop (despite Fences) and to MOVE that large no. of shortcuts to my Tiles.

 

I notice, that REMOVING the old shortcut from my desktop results in the Tiles shortcut not working any more. This goes for shortcuts to internet sites. Shortcuts to programs keep working (or at least seem to do so for now).

Is this supposed to happen, and if so, why? (I find it rather strange behavior).

When you move the shortcut from the desktop, what appears in the tile is a link to that shortcut. So removing the shortcut breaks the link.

To get round this, move all your shortcuts into a folder and then drag the shortcut to the tile.

Works for me.
