[1.5 Bug] City militia only appear to defend first battle

Several bugs were introduced with 1.5 to sieges. The most consistently appearing is that city militia will only appear to defend the city for the first attack of a round - in subsequent attacks, only units stationed in the city will defend. This bug is easily reproduceable.

 

Another bug I encountered was the opposite: That only militia appeared to defend - the stationed army was ignored and didn't appear, resulting in the loss of the city.

This is a long standing bug, been around forever...

and it'll burn you to know that, for the other way, when you are attacking an AI city, subsequent attacks in the same round are met with their FULL militia potential each time.

What burns me is StarDock's apparent indifference and lack of commitment towards fixing these things. Well, hopefully this one bug dies in 1.6 now.

Alas; you may think it important....and I may think it important. But SD is ultimately out for the cash to continue their company.

It's effort versus reward. How much time to fix this problem enabling X amount more sales ... or spend their time elsewhere. Obviously that 'value' becomes subjective if opinion comes into play.

Personally, I'd love to see Legendary Heroes be the ultimate benchmark for TBS games for years and years to come. I'm not SD though...

Yes, I have seen this 2nd issue too.  I reloaded from a save and moved to the town center tile when entering the city with my other units and then they appeared in combat to defend the city.  I reloaded it the other way and found the same outcome if I moved to the lower (off town center tile) prior to the attack and again the units did not enter combat to defend the city.

There also is an odd issue periodically with the caravan units in town center(s) when you try to move into the town, sometimes you can attack them, sometimes you can't move there depending on that unit’s state to your faction (war/friendly).
