Help!

Skin Studio 8 is kaput!!!

I used it earlier today, now I get the following error!

I know of other users who say they get the same thing.

Tried reinstalling both SKS and WB, to no avail.

Please help as skinning is nil until it's fixed.

I have to ask, since there is no trial version, why is there even a time-out coded into it?

I'd answer that question Wiz, but it would probably get me demoted. :S

This probably will not be fixed for at least a week, as they shut down Stardock for 2 weeks over the holidays. X(

I don't believe this is a trial problem as everyones has expired at the same time.

If it helps anyone till this gets resolved. I got rid of SS8 as you all have also done or tried. I installed version 730 enhanced and it works fine. At least I can still use it now.

I was told it wasn't compatible with WB 8.

For now, I have installed SKS 7 Pro on a Vista VM.

Had to install Photoshop as well, but what the hey.

well its a warm 6 degrees Celsius  up here in Canada on New Years Day, (12:44 am) and yes, my skin studio 8 is doing the same thing as Redneck Dudes.

It has expired.  come to think of it, I should be expiring too, have to be up at 6am for work, yikes , hehe.

cheers

Very strange! Mine died too.......

I must apologise for that.

Double checking all timeouts are removed after the betas is supposed to be done during QA testing to ensure this doesn't happen, but apparently that did not do happen in this case.

There will be an update out ASAP to sort this.  Most people are back on Thursday so I have high hopes it will be done by then.

For now you can either set your date back before launching SKS, or SKS7 will work just fine on Win8.  No need to install it on 7 or Vista.

SKS7 will work just fine on Win8.

Even with WB 8?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SKS 7 doesn't have the Windows 8 parts, right?

Added note, changing the time/date on your rig will mess with other programs, Skype, for one.

I'd be careful.

That is true.  You could reset the date, open SKS and set it back to correct once SKS has opened as SKS only checks on app launch.

SKS7 will not have the Win8 parts (all two of them I think?), but other than that it should work just fine with WB8.
