Lost Serial Number

I lost my serial number. Since my update to windows 8.1 im no longer able to move my icons around. Therefore, i figured out that i needed an update. I never registered my product before and discarded my serial number when i first got it. Ive went through my emails and havent found the email that stardock sent when i purchased it. Is it still possible to recover my serial number so i can update? When i emailed customer support all they said is go to the registration and my product tab. Nothing appears there. What should i do?
