Auto resolving shrill fights is wrong

When I auto resolve a fight against 5 air shrills the damage from the shrills goes to a single unit. This is not what happens if I fight manually. The shrills deal damage randomly to my army. None of my units gets a lot of damage dealt. The auto resolve behavior means that a unit can easily be killed if I have to clean a area from shrills and auto resolve. This requires me to fight every fight manually even when the shills are way to week to be a real challenge. Can this be fixed in a way that auto resolve also deals damage randomly among my army?

It's only a halfway option, but you could go into the tactical battle and let it be AI controlled (which is a lot faster than doing it entirely manually).  Of course, that might not be a good idea if you have any spellcasting heroes that love to burn mana in your shrill extermination squad.

The problem is the opposite of what you're complaining about: It's the manual fights that are wrong. The Shrills should focus down the same target during manual combat. In this case, the auto-resolve result is the real result.

Actually, the Fire Shrills can target their spell attack (like the Fire spell Fire Bolt or whatever it's called).  The Air Shrills have a spell attack that is like the Air spell that strikes one random unit.  Fire Shrills almost always focus fire in regular combat.  Air Shrills always do damage to a random enemy.  Water Shrills don't have a damage spell, they have the Slow spell.  And Earth Shrills don't have any spells but they have a lot more armor.
