Clicking Start8 brings up Config Page instead of Start Menu

I have recently installed Start8 on our Windows 2012 Remote Desktop Services Server (Terminal server). It worked great until I applied some IE configuration settings through Group Policy, and now it brings up the config page instead of the start menu whenever I click the start button. 

 

Some other interesting information: whenever I log on as myself (Domain admin) the proxy server policy does not get applied to me, so it is not a computer issue, but more of an account issue. I saw in another thread that the usual cause for this was that the trial has expired, but this is a paid version. I still attempted to delete the license file in /appdata and reactivate, but this did not fix the issue either. Also, I am on the latest version (1.3).

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is affecting a large number of users on our RDS Farm.

As an update, after clicking the start button a few times, it seems that the start button stops doing anything at all. It does not even bring up the menu any more.

Did you perhaps remove authority from some root servers for digital signatures?

The only Group Policy settings that were applied were in a GPO that had computer policy disabled. Only user settings are enabled. So unless the authority can be removed through user settings then I don't think that could be a possibility. Anything ion particular you want me to check?
