Windows 8.1 bottom left hotspot

How do i disable the below 'feature' of Windows 8.1? It ruins my quick access to Show/Peek Desktop when i have my taskbar on the left. Just to be clear i only want to remove the Purple flag that pops up when i mouse down there and takes me to the Metro Start menu if i left click it, not the superb context menu.

I believe this will be disabled if you tell Start8 to disable all corner hotspots.  You will however lose the right click context menu on it as the two are tied together.

Yeah i don't mind losing all the other hotspots, but that right click context menu is one of the handiest things about Windows 8 :(. Is there really no way to get it to work the way it does when then taskbar is along the bottom of the screen?
