How to disable DLC bought on Steam?

Hello, I have tried to inquire about this on the modding forums, but hasn't gotten a definitive reply.

I have bought and played the DLC a couple of times, but now I want to come back to the mod (Distant stars) that isn't compliant with the DLC.

I would like to get rid of the DLC, because, imho, the mod's  planets, research and balance changes are more enjoyable.

 

How do I go about this?

Distant Stars does work with DLC. Just a lot of minor non breaking bugs occured because Nacey (our primary coder) did not have DLC at the time of the last release. We are working on another update that will work better with the DLC and keep a lot of our changes though some of DLCs stuff will stay as it is cooler in our opinion.s

I cannot actually see the DLC in-game at all I think.
