Back again to ask for help on windows 8 start 8!

Trying to go from windows 7 style to new windows 8 style.

First off, thank you Start 8 for making me so much happier!!

The problem I'm finding is now that I've used start 8 to make my old school Windows 7 desktop back, I've been learning the new windows 8 metro(tile) screen and I would like to bring the start menu to that new tile screen and use that first.

I've just been unable to do that. I open up the start 8 configure box and change things to 8 but nothing changes but when I hit the Start screen all the apps open for windows 8 apps.

I hit get rid of desktop when I open but nothing works.

If anybody knows how I can go back to how the computer was when I opened it up 2 weeks ago and add Start 8 to tne new tile metro screen without having me to restore and lose my programs please let me know and thanks!

You cannot mix the Start8 Win7 style menu and the modern UI; Start8 will only function on the Win8 desktop.

#sean_drohan is correct, start 8 adds the start menu to windows 8 desktop only. You will have to make a decision, either boot the computer to the metro environment and leave your start menu structure behind OR use boot to desktop with Start 8. Its one or the other.  Just to add to the confusion, you could install another stardock program - modernmix which would allow you run metro applications in the desktop environment.

I hope this helps ....
