Will Windowblinds work on Windows blue 8.1?

Being it just released we can't say for sure yet.  If there are any issues, we'll work to resolve them asap.

isnt it just a consumer preview that has been released ?
 

I tried 8.1 preview but there are some visual bugs with windowblinds.

click on icons on taskbar and draging up to bring up the menu. it totally transparent or black.

Is that the only issue you have found so far?

It looks to be a simple fix, so we will aim to fix that in the next update for WB.

Think I will wait for WB and Start8 etc. to be Windows 8.1 compatible before upgrading.

There is a beta update of Start8 out now.

I can't even get Windowblinds 8 to install in 8.1. I keep getting decompression errors on every file.

Happens with every file. I tried compatibility settings. Doesn't help.

It looks like your installer is corrupted as WB8 installs on Windows 8.1 just fine.

I would download it again without using any download helper apps.

You were right, thanks. The download got corrupted through the Stardock Central installer. I downloaded it directly and no problems.

I just installed the 8.1 prerelease and the only problem I see is that they've added their own start button,with an ugly right click menu, which overlaps the start 8 button.The start 8 button is still functional,just click to the right of the stock start button, and partially visible on certain skins. oh and the glitch dsbig123 is referring to you can still read the text just the background of the menu is transparent which I never would of known if he didn't mention it I didn't know those menus were there lol

I didn't see a start button...hmm.

Edit: If I mouse over the bottom left corner, I get a start button.

RND do you get the old startmenu if you click on it or just the w8 Start interface would be interesting to know since i havent installed the preview yet.

Rolo, I get the Windows 8 start page.

Pretty much. The OS does have a few changes, but the "new" start button is a very poor joke. It hides in the lower left corner and only pops up when moused over.

Brings up an improved start page, but still not a start menu like we're used to.

ModernMix seems to work ok, as do Start8 1.17 beta, Decor8 5.01 beta and WinFX 5.11 beta.

BTW, I have Windows 8.1 in a virtual machine.

I've noticed a bug with WindowsBlind on windows 8.1

The only theme without bug is the default...

This bug appear with all theme include in windowsblind. Can you help me ?

Try re-applying the theme. The same issue happens on Win7 at times and re-applying usually fixes it.. In the meantime send to support@stardock.com  with a reference to this thread.

i am using windows 8.1 and windowblinds 8.4 but the problem is when i apply a theme everything seems okay for a while like 50 seconds but then the wb changes the theme automatically to default theme what ever theme i apply i get this problem and then i see the taskbar and only "my computer" window in wb theme but any other program window still appears in windows 8.1 default theme ,,, and another thing is that when i right click on anything (taskbar icons) and what i see is a menu that is black or totally transparent.... plz if anyone could help

I am afraid you do not appear to have a version of WindowBlinds released by Stardock...

For a start there is no 8.4, only 8.04 and your file dates appear to be a mismatch of versions.
