[Spoiler] Hero recruitment (for Steam Achievements)

Just thought a thread that shows how to recruit each unit for the steam achievements would be useful.  Please fill in details :D

I've only gotten 3 of the 7 so far that were listed as Steam Achievements.

 

Mausolos:

It is a quest in a tomb location.  You enter, and put the head on a statue.  A golem (Mausolos) will show up, and you get the option to say something along the lines of 'you did not do it'.  It will then reveal another lair (the robber) that you have to clear out.

Kill the robber, go back, and Mausolos will join you.

He's a 2 movement, high armour and HP unit with death ward.

 

Ascian:

Random event.  You get a quest line to explore a lost temple or something, and it eventually gives you a collar which can tame twisted units.  Ascian will be somewhere on the map, and you use the collar to tame it.

 

Gallowman:

I actually got him from having high fame.  He was a hero that showed up at around... 500 fame value as I recall.

 

 

I suspect all of the remaining 4 are recruitments from fame, but would like confirmation :D

 

Nen Ratcatcher

- Recruitable from fame.

 

Tuatha

- Recruitable from fame.

 

Raza the Wild

- Recruitable from fame.

 

Kasst

- Recruitable from fame.

I've gotten Nen from a Fame lvl up choice.  Same with Tuatha.  I've never seen Kasst or Raza.  They might be quest-driven.

I've gotten kasst from fame recruitment a couple of times now.  Got him as my first fame champ in a game.

Got Mausolos from the quest.

Got Tuatha, Raza the Wild and Kasst from fame milestones. Nen & Gallowman didn't show up (yet).

I never suceeded in Taming Ascian with this Amethyst collar - last game I actually saw her got killed by a Wildland Army before I could reach her...

 

What about the 'ghosts' champions, like Corinne The Archivist (iirc) and the lightbringer champ ?

I have never saw them as well...

I got corrine the archivist last night as a fame milestone.  Was playing with necromancy revived mod so it was pretty sweet to have a ghost champ in an undead army.  =)

Ascain is well worth getting.  Has maul and a 5 square bladerush (to an empty square), and can equip trinkets.   She is an assassin, but I just choose precision, so she can do more "mauling".  Just keep an eye out fore her after you get the collar.  You even get experience for taming her.

Forget the name, something like Pelennor (most of the names in this game I relate to JRRT's names, somehow). Just got him through a regular fame deal. Pretty cool--I liked the graphics (i.e. not a body) and the sword he came with was pretty cool. Rather underpowered for where I was in the game, but them's the breaks. (Maybe I should say that more generally, by the time I get to the later heroes there's no place for them in my armies.)

That ghost archivist doesn't have much going for her.

The Gallowman on the other hand has Consume Spirit, a pretty OP spell.

Dammit, I skipped Raza because while he was awesome, the other champion bet him.

(And yes, he is gotten via fame)

 

And Ascian is awesome, having him maul a dragon when said dragon is already surrounded by all your other champions? Priceless.

 

EDIT: I got Ascian, yet that achievement did not activate? Did I do something wrong? I used the collar and is currently at my party. And its not even a case of steam not registering anything, I got other ones in that session.
