Dialog Windows Sometimes Not Drawn

When WindowFX is enabled, some new dialog windows do not get drawn.

 

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Excel
  2. Press F11 to create new chart
  3. Click "Select Data" on Chart Tools (ribbon group), Design (ribbon), Data (section)
  4. Click "Add" (button) under "Legend Entries (Series)"

Observed behavior:

  • Chart redraws (with big blue bar)
  • "Select Data Source" dialog window hides (normal behavior)
  • "Edit Series" dialog window not shown
Other Notes:
  • Pressing <Esc> will cancel the dialog (indicating the window has keyboard focus, even though it's not drawn)
  • Workaround: Click outside Excel window (to lose focus) and click inside Excel.  The "Edit Series" dialog will display.
  • The issue does not happen when WindowFX features are OFF.

Product Versions:

  • Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) with SP1
  • WindowFX 5.1 - Enabled
  • WindowBlinds 7.42 - Enabled (with Win8 Metro skin)
  • Fences 2.10 - Enabled
  • Microsoft Office 2010 Professional
  • No other programs are running that I suspect would interfere with window drawing.

 

Please provide thoughts, tests to try, or requests for other information to help me diagnose.
