Start menu position issue

Windows 7 start menu versus Start8 start menu.

I've installed ObjectDock 2.1 on a couple of my machines - a desktop running Windows 7 and a laptop running Windows 8 (and using Start8, Fences and ModernMix as well...)  I've noticed that when I click on the start menu icon it appears on the bottom left side in Windows 7 but directly over the start button icon on the QuickLaunch dock (in the middle of the screen) or under the start button icon on the Programs Tab.  

Is there any way to get the start menu to open in the bottom left side on Windows 8 machines (I'm assuming this is a Start8 issue...)?

Actually, this is appears to be a Win7 issue.

The docklet is designed to put the menu closest to where the mouse click is . . since you are right there

Now I have to test with Win7 to see why it's "broken".  :)
