Shutting down modern application

Metro provides a method to shut down a modern application by "grabbing" the top of the screen and dragging it down.  I like being able to run a modern application in a windows 8 window.  But now I don't know how to shut down an application.  Please advise.

Selecting the X in the corner of the window frame will close the app.

There are numerous apps I have found the close button does not work for. I assume it's a known bug and will be fixed in a future release so I haven't said much.

If you are having issues closing apps then please let us know as it is not a known issue and not normal.

Hi

All programs I have run here with the Modern-Mix app running have closed absolutely every time with the Red X in the corner, as well as minimizing and maximizing using either the task bar or Tiles as well as the windows or full screen options from the menu in the top right corner.

Is there a particular app that is not closing for you?  You are running windows 8 Correct? and have Modern-Mix installed and activated?

I had an issue closing several apps. They wouldn't close but just appeared to close and re-open. I tried all kinds of settings. Yesterday, when I went to reply to this I retested and they work now. The only changes since last time I posted (The thread titled Skype) is a newer video card, and I downloaded the latest beta.

Ah well, whatever the issue was it seems to be gone for now. Thanks :)
