Fences not showing at startup

Fences 2.1 installed and running under Win7 Ultimate 32-bit. Also - in case it's relevant - using UltraMon. The problem I'm having is that on bootup no icons or Fences are visible on the desktop - although widgets and taskbar are displaying fine. All I need to do to make them show up is right-click on the desktop to display a menu. 'Configure Fences' isn't visible when I do - but a second or two later, the Fences and icons appear.

This ring any bells for anyone?

Yeah, it rings a bell for me as I've just started having this problem too.  I've removed and reinstalled Fences a few times now.  Keeping settings or not keeping settings as soon as I reboot I have to right-click to get Fences displaying.  Not the end of the world but really annoying considering it was working a few days a go.

Anyone got a fix for this?

Thanks.

I had similar issues.  No problems for months and months and then suddenly ... the following symptoms:

1) Booting to desktop all my icons are organized according to my design using fences. But no fence windows appear (mine are semi-opaque)

2) Right-clicking desktop brings up the Fences control panel (Configure Fences), but none of the settings have any effect whatsoever.

3) Dbl-clicking and hitting ESC on desktop has no effect whatsoever.

MY FIX:

I went into my System Restore (Windows Menu > Search Programs and Files > System Restore )

Undid my most recent "Critical Windows Update" that occurred on Monday May 20th ... rebooted and FIXED.

Hope this helps you!
