Me Newbie to stardock...

First I was stunned to notice my task bar went poof. OMG!

Then to change the default "Always on top" ... how annoying.

I'm reading on the net there is a ODpro but the store does not easily present this as a option under the STORE link.

Hoping I can upgrade or exchange my product purchase for this.

Another thing I am hoping for in the pro is the jump list ... so useful.

I have MetroMix, ObjectDock, and Start8. so far I am loving 2.

OK, this is as clear as mud, mind embellishing a bit?

my bad, it makes the SYS Tray go away poof. when you choose not to use the task bar. Big security risk.

the default setting shows tab menu's as Always On Top.  Not a great default to impress people imo.

It sounds like you're talking about ObjectDock, correct?  And then you're stating that if you allow ObjectDock to hide the task bar you can't see the system tray?

If I recall correctly, there's an applet or setting to show the system tray on the dock, though I don't recall if that was a Plus feature or not.

Edit: I haven't used ObjectDock since version 1.9, about three years ago, so my information may be outdated.

As the system tray is part of the taskbar it would be expected that it would vanish when you tell ObjectDock to hide the taskbar.

In what way is this a big security risk?

If it is hidden you cant see if malware or a virus had shut off your anti-virus anti-malware program.

Also when you exit out of steam or certain other apps they remain running in the systray not really fully exited until you exit from the systray or kill the process.

Either way the plus version boasts it has systray support but the plus version is not listed under the STORE link.

but here it is https://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/information_plus.asp

I am just ranting cause this is what I want but was not offered in the store and the plus features is what I am looking for.

There's not an ObjectDock "Plus" any longer, just a full featured ObjectDock.

Having no jump list is the reason I don't use ObjectDock.
Windows 8 unlike 7 has no resent programs list in the start menu so I use the jump list in the taskbar. It would be cool to have that option "hint hint"

And that is why there is a cool and useful software app called Stardock Tiles : https://www.stardock.com/products/tiles/

It has a recent opened documents and recent used/ran apps pages, very useful program, and is easy to use and customize with skins.

And it will also show your systray icons, time and date as well.

Cheers

right click on dock and chose setting, then go to Home Tab, the click on : ON MY DOCK, then under more options choose show system tray icons on my dock.

Hope that helps
