Steam Updates the Game Every Time I Exit to Windows

Pretty much what the title says. Every time I exit the game Steam does the synching and then updates the game like it's downloading a patch. Why is this happening? This didn't happen before. I think it started to happen the last couple of versions.

Probably syncing your save games in the cloud. Turn it off in steam before it sends you mad.

As Hunter said, Steam is uploading your save games to the steam cloud where they are stored for your use.

If you do not plan to switch your computer soon and only use one anyways you can safely disable that feature. But if not the case you should let it enabled to have an easier transition between different pcs.
