[.91] [Bug] Armor requirements are missing (need help figuring out why)

I just got the Chain Boots after defeating a bandit. My hero can't equip them, which I believe is because he doesn't have the chain mail proficiency. If that's required, the text should say "chain mail proficiency required".

On a related note, could we change from chain and plate proficiency to medium and heavy armor instead? More versatile and would make sense to add that for things like shields.

I found out something interesting about this one today. When I got the chain boots initially, I couldn't equip them because of the chainmail proficiency requirement. Later, when I checked the boots it showed the "Must have chainmail proficiency" requirement.

I'm guessing it didn't display the requirement until after I unlocked chainmail as a technology. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

I believe this was still present in .87, but I can't confirm it right now. Anyone else help out here?

I just started playing through the scenario in .90. Chain boots are missing their requirement description because I haven't researched the armor technology that unlocks them. It should show the requirement even if I haven't learned it yet via technology since there's no other reason given why I can't equip it.

I was thinking more about this and even if it's not possible to state the specific technology required yet because the notification is tied to it, maybe it would be possible to state this instead:

This item cannot be equipped at this time due to a missing requirement.

Not ideal, but if it at least gives some info that it can't be equipped in the tooltip that would help.

It usually IS part of the notification if a target Hero cannot equip an item.  I look for this more when I start getting Platemail items

Shows up in the tooltip for me.  Hmm... there must be some cases where it isn't being displayed.  Im not sure what the difference is.

I also dont have the tech researched which unlocks chain mail (though i tried with that research too).  In either case I saw the trait warning.

Derek, thanks for replying!

Is it possible having a hero with that trait proficiency could cause the requirement to appear? For instance, maybe having a Defender hero who starts with Chain would cause it to appear. Or could it be related to the faction you're using?

In my game above, I started the awesome new scenario you made and got the chain mail from killing the Fire shrill. Should be easy to replicate.

I tested this again tonight with .91. I'm not sure why/how, but I think knowing the Blacksmithing technology is at fault here. I obtained a chain hood in my game and couldn't use it (the tooltip requirement didn't appear). However, after I researched Blacksmithing, it started to show up.

Does that make any sense why?

No, I've tried it without having Blacksmithing and it shows up correctly for me.  There is definitly something going on, but thats not it, I dont know why it doesnt show in some situations (and I can't get it to fail to see whats going on).

Thanks for checking it out, Derek. Can you start the new scenario, defeat the fire shrill and reload the first item drop until it gives you a chain-related item? It didn't show up for me right at the beginning and would maybe help you with trying to replicate the failure case.

If anyone else has an idea on the cause of the problem, chime in. Is anyone else seeing this?

I have noticed proficiency is not stated in notification screen when you find an armor item, but does show up when you check it in inventory.
