[.80] Bug Collar that controls a twisted unit dissapears

What is a twisted unit?

I just did a quest that gave me a collar that can control a twisted unit. I do not know what a twisted unit is, so i tried the collar on a random unit. It said that it did now work on this type of unit, but the collar disappeared anyway.

And what is a twisted unit, i think the description of the item should say that.

Each unit belongs to a category. You can see it when you open the information window on a unit. There is no list of such creatures, but there is a logic to it. A twisted unit will be one of those monsters that are non standard humans and beasts.

What about the Monster Manual? Sure, it is only for FE, so the LH-only monsters won't be in it, but it should be a start.

I also had this happen to me. The collar disappeared after trying it on "a wrong type". I reloaded because it was Ongr and I don't know why I couldn't charm him.

Yep, this is all correct, but what I think the OP is trying to say is that if you try to use this collar on for example a beast, then the collar shouldn't disappear + that the unit trying to use the collar loses his turn. Instead it should simply not work to use the collar at all if the target isn't of a twisted race. This is a bug I presume, and not working as intended.

This also happened to me although I'm pretty sure I just clicked to select it and then right clicked to cancel and it disappeared.

You can't use the "Ascian" collar on Ongr, but you can use the standard, brown, random drop collars on him.

If that's true then clearly it's not working as intended. The standard collars should only allow to tame Beasts and Ongr is a Twisted creature.

Ongr is actually an Ogre I think. I do not believe he is a Twisted in his description.

And whenever I went on to control him it always worked with the Ascian Collar.

I actually just checked: Ongr is a Trog.

Well looking at his data, he's actually both:

<DisplayName>Ongr the Unbound</DisplayName>                                                                                                      <CreatureType>Twisted</CreatureType>                                                                                                                 <RaceType>Race_Type_Trogs</RaceType>

End of quote

In other words, he's a Twisted disguised as a Trog, which explains why you can tame him with the Amethyst Collar.

There's probably something that needs to be corrected one way or the other. :)

Has anyone used the collar to take control of a dark wizard? Having the despair spell whenever you want it is basically a "win" button.

Ongr used to be listed as twisted (ha, rhyme).
