I found that the overall performance of my computer decreased when I installed v1.15. When I reverted back to v1.14 beta, performance was good again.
Is this a known problem?
No that should not be the case.
When do you feel your computer was slower? When it was slower was any process using lots of cpu?
Yes, Start8 seemed to use lots of CPU. Also, start menu icon caching was like molasses.
Could it be your machine had just installed some windows updates and so on reboot after install was slow?
From the description of the problem it sounds like the hard drive was thrashing on startup which is why it was slow.
When you say Start8 seemed to use lots of cpu, what process was it exactly?
I changed nothing at all except for the new Start8 version 1.15. The SSD has never been slow for me, and the performance was good again after uninstalling v1.15.
I even tried it again now, and v1.15 gives me bad performance, uninstalling it and re-installing the v1.14 beta resolves it.
I have no idea why, but I can not use the latest version.
Which process was using cpu?
We have not had any other reports of anything similar so far so it is looking like it could be a conflict between Start8 and something else on your pc.
Nothing really that I could notice. Then again, I'm not very keen on installing v1.15 again.
