[gameplay] Wildland Allies underwhelming

I believe Wildland Allies should be a little earlier on the tech tree.  It seems to be a late game tech at this point, but by the time you get can recruit ogres, they are outclassed by most everything else one can build, at least in my experience using Resoln.

I notice with this one the Ogres, as well as others like Knights of Asok... they've dropped them from 3 units to 2 units.  They're underwhelming yeah... but they're also free.  But I don't get why they'd reduce it from 3 to 2 units.

This has been a long-standable balance problem.

 

You should be getting Wildling armies and bone ogres. 

 

I'd also like to see all monster lairs open to all factions.

Ya, monster allies are worthless. Only dragons are any good.

This is in fact one of those problems that has been around so long I've given up hope of functional monster allies.

In fact they seem to keep nerfing monsters more and more, which is weird because they were never any good to begin with.

Free but astronomical upkeep costs, at least for the Knights, I was paying 9 gildar a turn a peice for them! I debated disbanding them and demolishing/razing their HQ. None of my other units come even close to that upkeep cost, and my units already outclass them x_x

If it still works how it used to, just wait. every several turns, you will get units from those camps, eventually bankrupting you as you rush all over deleting them as they appear.

While you can disband the Knights, you can't raze the HQ once it is built. The only way to get rid of it, is to hope that an enemy unit or monster destroys it.

I would like to see Wildland Allies open up their respective templates in the unit creation menu, instead of granting free units, similarly to how wargs and horses work. This could be balanced easier, and thus let the techs be gotten earlier.
