When performing a search, no application are being found - only files and folder. What am I doing wrong?

if you search for say mouse do you get any results from the control panel?
Yes, Mouse appears. If I type Control Panel it appears are well. But if I type Word or Excel, nothing appears.
The applications are still not displaying. I have also downloaded the latest version (8.14) and the same issue is occurring. Any suggestions?
