Does it still split it

Do Champions still split experience? It doesn't feel like it. Not that I mind though. I feel like I am leveling slowly whether of I have my Sovereign bu himself or a Sovereign and a couple champions.

I'd like to see the xp split removed, especially as you are swarming with champs early games and not many normal units.

One possible fix, all heros in army share (split) the total experience earned. However, if sov is present, sov ALSO gets an amount equal to 100% of earned experience. The sov's amount is not deducted from the exp shared by the heros. example. army with sov and 3 heros (and several troops) wins a battle and earns 100 experience points. Sov gets 100 exp points. Each of the three heros gets 33% of the total 100 exp points, so each of the three heros gets 33 points. Units get experience points in a separate method from that of heroes. Just make the sov a 'different' type of unit so the experience is determined (as it is with units) separately from heros.

I hate this split exp with heros it should be full exp for all. If you chose to use a hero instead of a unit of 6. then you should not be penalized.

Besides it's a SINGLE player game that can use mod's and rewrite scripte. So who dose it hurt to do this.

Some of the problem with split XP is that on the average, promotions and equipment are less powerful than in FE.

 

So a lvl 5 hero in LH is on the average much less powerful than a lvl 5 in FE.  Doesn't have the promotions you would pick normally, and doesn't have that nice loot you get from killing enemy heroes.

I would rather nix the heroes splitting XP and go for an overall exp reduction across the board.  Or possibly just exp reduction for heroes only, but not regular units?  Would have to play both to check the balance.

Only being able to attack once per turn substantially contributes to leveling slowly now. Previously a fast army could get a couple of fights per turn pretty easily.

There is less xp for killing the supposedly hard groups of monsters now, too.

Oh, I thought they had removed the split.  They said they had, like, 1-2 days before the beta came out.  That would explain the low XP gains I've been getting late-game.

Please do not remove the split.

Currently, we get the same total XP for each fight regardless of whether we send one or 10 heroes (I think it's a plain divide, haven't actually tested). This means I can choose to spread the XP around or concentrate it on one hero. I also decide whether I can clear lairs faster with my heroes split up or whether I need to group them together for strength which is in turn a choice of how much production to spend in supporting units.

If there's no split I'm basically forced to send every hero to participate in every fight together if at all possible in order to avoid "losing" XP. A fight that is worth 10 XP gives 20 XP if I send 2 heroes and 40XP if I send 4 heroes. This just eliminates decision making. It's bad enough that quest XP has always been this way (keep forgetting to test quest XP in LH).

If we want faster levels it should come from increased rewards or reduced levelup requirements not by removing the split and "forcing" me to game the system - cause seriously whose not going to religiously collect the free lunches?.

I stand corrected , there are people who would not like the split removed. :grin:  This is where in needs to be an OPTION in the game setup menu.

Any-how ....there is nothing " forcing " you to game the system. That would be your choise to play that way, if thay got rid of the split exp.

I on the other hand, I have NO choise, I MUST NOT team with heros because thay take to much exp from my Avator, if I split esp with them I

can NEVER beat the game on Challenging or higher, thay out produce me to fast and win because im still trying to get my squad up the ranks to

be of any use. You have a Choise I don't. I can ONLY strip them for loot and take there powers when I find them. I would LOVE to go through    the game with HEROS on Challenging or higher but I dont see how. :S

But why do you want to get more xp from a method that removes choice instead of simply getting more XP per kill? If XP rewards were doubled and still split normally you would have your faster levelling but you would not be punished for splitting your heroes up. If you remove the split then the only real difference is you no longer have a choice in how to use your heroes.

Champs are weaker than before, and units are stronger- so a stack of champs will not be an auto-win vs a stack of units.  

 

I don't think the champ stack of doom would be the problem it was in FE beta where it was an auto-win.    That said, I expect champs to get buffed during the beta so that might change.

Plutonium239 .... I'm not trying to get more exp, I am trying to KEEP it....As you stated a mission my be worth 50 exp points I want all 50 for my Avator and 50 for any heros why? Because there is NEVER enough quests or baddies to get exp from BEFORE you run into borders from AI players that prevent you from getting any extra exp with out going to war to soon. So I can have 1 level 20 or 3 level 10's . And there is NO 3 level 10's that can beat my 1 level 20. Which leaves me to loot and strip spells off heros and never to use them. :S
