Features wanted: Hierarchical fences and transparent fences w/ visible icons

After trying out Fences I was disappointed to find it couldn't do what I wanted. I wanted all my new icons to appear on the bottom rows of my screen so I could put sidebar gadgets on the left side. But I can't use one big fence on the bottom because icons in the fence will appear in the top row first, instead of the bottom row like I need and also because my gadgets on the left are not all the same sizes so I had to make several fences to utilize all the space.

After one fence fills up I want new icons to then go into another designated fence. But there's no way to do this.

I also want the fences to be transparent and the icons visible so it looks like a normal desktop. But this isn't possible either. It'd be cool if you could add this feature and then when you mouse over the icons the fence would appear.

Any chance on making this happen?

Fences 2.x does have a "Hide fences, show only on mouse-over" - maybe you can try that.
You need to set it fence by fence (for each fence), however.

I already uninstalled Fences but I'm pretty sure I tried that and it hides the entire fence, including icons too.

Yes, sorry, I misread what you wrote. I am not sure if many users would use this, but maybe it could be a nice feature.
