Problem solved went back to Synergy - secondary computer loses keyboard focus (mouse is ok) - problem persists. No clue now!

Multiplicity 2.0 has been working fine until very recently.  I have two computers (Windows 7 and XP Pro), both running Chrome browsers.  In the secondary computer when I start typing in GMail (or anything else) I get partway through a sentence then the keyboard returns focus to the primary computer.  If I want to regain control I have to move the cursor back to the primary computer and change the active Chrome tab to a different tab.  Then I can go back to the secondary computer and start typing again for a short while until the problem reappears over and over...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

rev1 (20Dec12):   In the comments that followed my original post I thought the problem was with Chrome, so I switched to Firefox on one computer and Chrome on the other.  Initially it worked ok, but the problem came back.  Today I ran Firefox on both computers and still the same problem.  I also notice on the main display sometimes I have to click twice on a browser window to make it active almost like it's not changing focus from the other computer.  I'm stumped right now, but I'm back to thinking the problem is with Multiplicity.  At least until I can try another fix.

rev2 (26Dec12):  I couldn't work with this problem anymore so I went back to using Synergy.  I used it all day today with my standard configuration (to include Chrome and my normal web pages) and didn't experience any problems whatsoever.  That tells me the problem is in Multiplicity not my environment.

What webpage is the primary computer on?

Could chrome be refreshing the webpage on the primary possibly?

That's what I'm in the process of narrowing down.  It doesn't matter which web page Chrome is on as long as I switch to any other page then go back to my task, but it loses focus shortly after again.  When I kill Chrome entirely on the primary computer the problem seems to be resolved.  I'll try starting with no web pages up on Chrome to see if I can narrow it down.  This just started recently, so it could be that I have started using a web page that keeps refreshing itself and demands focus when it refreshes itself.  I'll  let you know.  Thanks for the reply.

The other possibility is chrome has changed itself and now has a keyboard hook bug.

Yep! That's what it looks like.  I tried removing everything from my Chrome browser and disconnected my account and only had one page up with no website loaded (just a blank tab).  The problem remains.  I know for sure Chrome has updated recently and my problem started recently.  I can't say for sure, but it's suspicious that when Chrome is not running on the primary computer that the secondary works just fine.  As soon as I start Chrome on the primary the problem appears and it only has to do with the keyboard (the mouse actions work just fine).  I wonder if there's a way to roll Chrome back to a previous verson?

I just tried another test this time typing in a simple "text" file (completely outside of chrome).  The problem remains.  If Chrome is running on the primary computer the keyboard focus is eventually lost, regardless of where the typing is directed on the secondary computer.  However, if I kill Chrome on the primary there are no problems typing on the secondary.

It looks like the latest version of Chrome has introduced a bug...

I have a workaround in place until Chrome gets their act together.  I installed Firefox on my main computer and still run Chrome on the secondary.  Everything works fine now.  The problem is definitely Chrome.   Their latest release has a bug when it comes to interfacing with Multiplicity.
