1.02 ¿Bug? Can't build city in Imperium Wildlands

I'm not sure if it is or not a bug. But in my last game, I let AIs to grow, while I did the same.

When I went to Imperium Wildlands, it was all cleaned, only left that Demon Lord, or whatever its name. I killed it, went to the loot, and the tile spot to settle did not trigger, so I could not settle a city, and the empty wildlands of Imperium remained there...

Does anybody know about this?

It can happen if you built a city outside the wildlands, close enough to prevent settling a new city inside.  Remember the 5-6-7 tile limit of space between each one.

So maybe a close AI city is the guilty...that makes sense...Thanks a lot

You have to build a city on a certain tile with in the wild lands itself, then it will clear out and you can settle one more location.

i know this is an old post but it's still present in 1.3.  I built a city near Imperium before knowing what it was so I assume it's too close for me to complete the quest.  There should be some sort of exception for wildlands that you have to settle for quests.

i had the same problem once. my solution was simply to delete my own town (luckily it wasn't cery developed yet), but it's a pretty counter intuitive move and i guess many players don't realize why it happens and how to "solve" the issue, so i second the idea of a special rule for wildlands.

Yes, i agree. Special rule for wildlands re: settling new city.

or at the very least, have more spots available when you beat the boss or whatever in imperium.  it's a large area so even if you plop down one city too close, you'd still be able to put settle somewhere else.
