Squads restored to full health but only 2 units

In my last session yesterday I experienced some odd behaviour in several combats.

I was seeing squads that were at full health, but still only showed 2 instead of 3 units (and also giving me the stats like 2x15 attack, etc.).

I used heal a lot in some of the previous combats, so maybe it's connected to this? Or is there any other reason for a squad at full health to enter combat with only 2 of 3 units.

 

Not sure if I use the best terminology here with squad and unit. Squad meaning e.g. a spearmen produced in my city and unit meaning the 3 guys that form that spearman squad. (not a native speaker)

I understand you.  A full strength unit is entering a combat with only 2 out of 3 "figures" of that 3-man unit (figure = unit within a unit).  I would say it's definitely a bug.

I haven't seen what you're describing exactly, but I encountered something similar with the Butchermen squad that heals itself and adds another member every time it kills an enemy. The heal would apply, but the increased number didn't show straight away until I next attacked with it - at which point the extra guy popped into existence.

The reason I mention this is that the extra guy did eventually show up. When you moved/attacked with the units, did the units "update" to the correct number, or did they still only make two attacks instead of three?

Either way it would be a bug, but hopefully we can help identify the exact nature of the bug.

I wasn't able to replicate the problem, but if you have a saved game with one of these full health but undermanned units, it will help the developers figure out what's going on if you upload it via Dropbox or something.

No, I'm pretty sure they didn't update. Once I realized the issue I did watch them closer, to see if that was just a visual issue (have seen quite a lot of those in only a few days of playing - luckily they are usually gone after a reload).

I have had the behaviour you are talking about too, but that seems to be something different. I have units display outdated stats from time to time (hitpoints, remaining cooldown periods, number of attacks) but those stats usually update at some point (before they are actually needed). So it is only confusing, but not causing real issues. Also these issues only come up if there is a change to the units stats during a battle.

In my above case the unit enters the battle with full health after it was previously damaged in another battle. But it only has to figures in it, both in the units visuals and the stats and when I used them to attack they also did less damage and the stats did not update.

I actually haven't seen this issue again so far - only during that one session (meaning running the program without restart).
