Several Annoying Problems in SkinBrowser

I'm still having fits with the SkinBrowser.

A couple of selected items (like the T-Fuby cursor) instead re-download items that I've already done. No matter what i do, it just re-downloads other items.

AND I'm still getting random errors after downloading other files. For instance, if I try to install several WB skins from the download list, I get "Error: Failed to load ODZip.dll" which I assume is OD Zip related. It's loaded, it's installed but it doesn't seem to work here and I guess I don't see why it's necessary. I have other zip tools loaded as well so OD ZIP shouldn't be necessary.

I ALSO occasionally still get the Error Code 5 routine as well. Does ANYONE have any idea what's going on? It's getting frustrating here.....

I dont understand by what you mean it just re-downloads other items. Can you give me more information?

Do you get the odzip error everytime with the same skin? odzip.dll file basically handles all the zipping and the extraction for the skinbrowser. It should never fail to load the file unless it doesnt exist on your computer.

For which skins do you also get runtime error 5? this error indicates that the skinbrowser does not recognise the file format (extension) you are trying to apply.

Thanks, Brian, for replying.

T-Fuby Cursor, for instance, keeps downloading the Dusk Beatnik File that I downloaded previously. I don't know why but that is an example. A couple of other skins I've tried to download (I don't remember the names off hand) had similar results - they all wanted to re-download the Beatnik file.

I re-installed the WinCustomize SkinBrowser and that seems to have gotten rid of the odzip problem. I may have an idea what might be the issue here. See if this makes sense. I use an Explorer File Manager replacement called PowerDesk that includes it's own Zip handling capabilities. I actually prefer this to ODZIP (sorry). I've noticed that on occasion, PD was losing it's default control of zip files and it caused PD to crash wierdly. I wonder is SkinBrowser was taking the default zip control and giving it to ODZIP and therefore was causing PD to bomb? And when I re-set the Zip control to PD, that might have done something to the ODZIP that SB wanted to use? Worth investigating?

As for File Error 5, I can't remember what file I last got it with (though I think I got it once last week). I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I encounter it again. Knowing what the issue is now, might help me be more aware. Don't suppose we could get translations of the variuos error codes?

Thanks!
David
