Lack of Major Reviews.

Anybody else surprised by the relative lack of major professional reviews for this game?  The game has been out for over a week and Metacritic still only has 3 professional reviews listed?

I know this is not considered a AAA major release, but I really thought it deserved more coverage than it seems to be getting?

And a TBS.  It's far easier to review action, arcade, RTS, FPS, even RPGs, then to get a real feel for the mechanics and longterm play of something like FE.  Not to mention that most gamers aren't interested in TBS games.

That's not to say FE shouldn't be reviewed.  Only that many sites won't.

Plus, so many major reviews are biased from ad dollars, I don't really care what IGN, Gamespot, or PC Gamer think of FE.

I bet there is one person at each of those sites that enjoys TBS. He probably has a pretty big backlog of games to ghostwrite for the "journalists" that are playing Black Ops 2.

I wish ey reviewed it already..

That's ok there's plenty of PLAYER reviews and those are coming in around the LOW 70's. It's going to get average reviews because of the first one as when you leave a bad taste in someones mouth it's hard to convince them the 2nd round is better. ;)

If you read the gamespy review, you would wish that the major sites never touched TBS. Its pathetic.

THey gave it a 7 that was about what was expected by the masses that voted in the Metacritic thread.

This about the AI made me laugh

Its suicidal logic seems to be, "Now that you've taken my capital and main fortress, you're in big trouble!"

Its not the 7 that is the problem, its the fact that the reviewer doesnt get the game and he it holding it against FE.

An example of a hopeless statement in my opinion:

"the overall problem with Enchantress's early game: you have to go out and explore and gain experience, but you are too often punished for doing so."

Is he suggesting that FE should be like a docile zoo where you are in no danger? He is also bashing the start of the game, which people here on the forum seems to be enjoying the most. I just find the whole review to be strange. He is commenting on the AI, but it doesnt sound like he has played enough to make his claims.

You have to remember reviewers don't play the game EXTENSIVELY like fanbois do or those here at the forum. They base their reviews normally off of ONE play through. So, it will look like they haven't played the game most of the time. Games have to come out and GRAB a reviewer from the BEGINNING and not feel like it's trying to grind them into the ground. Though I like a review where the reviewer claims it appears the AI is trying to drive them into the ground from the beginning. ;)
