After I installed windows start8 and close my laptop lid my display is gone...... anyone please help because I have tons of homework to do
This doesn't sound like a problem that would be caused by Start8.
Have you tried pressing keys or rebooting?
yes I have and nothing.... everything was working fine until this happened.....
Does your display even power on?
You didn't accidentally use the Windows 8 option to change to an external display did you?
I would force reboot it by holding down the power button for 10 seconds. This should turn it off and you should then be able to turn it back on again by pressing the power button as usual. If you still get no display output at all it sounds like you may have encountered an unrelated hardware failure.
