Combining Units on Same Tile Into an Army

Last night, after having installed version 0.990 and starting a new game, I accidentally disbanded an army (my sovereign and a summoned creature) not knowing what I did to make this happen.  Before sending what I thought was the army into an adjacent tile against a monster, I noticed my sovereign and the summoned creature were separate units occupying the same hex.  "No problem," I thought, "I'll just combine them back into an army."  The problem, though, was that I couldn't--for the life of me--figure out how that's done via the UI.

So...how do you combine separate units on the same tile into an army?

Also, is there a chart detailing the M&K commands?

I don't think there is a command that does this without moving to a seperate tile, with both units. I agree that their should be some better army management UI for the player. A button that says 'join' that opens up a management screen where you can mix and match armies. But sadly this is a feature request and I know they are not going to do such a thing right now.

This has happened to me as well - this is some of the polish that needs to be put on before release b/c it's the kind of thing people get really frustrated with and projects amateurism.  MoM could do this with 8 bits and 320 pixels of UI room.

I still can't figure out why multiple armies are even permitted on one tile?

End of cardinaldirection's quote

The amount of units per battle is potentially limitless. For balance, Stardock limited the amount of units you can send at once into a battle.

Given that, you could (with a help of a mod) make it so each army contain 90 units instead of the normal 4 you got at the start. If you notice, cities do not have the same limitation, and can garrison a much greater army.

I totally agree with an army management button. Join/split/combine units between armies in a tile should be a must, instead of having to move them to another tile to combine the desired army.

The same, for units in a city: it is annoying to make multiple clicks to check the units I want to join the army: first to know the stats, second to shift+click to combine the army...

Yep we sure neef easy army management. Current system is pretty cumbersome.
