Fences 2 activating with middle mouse click

Hi all,

Using Stardock Central to upgrade to the latest version.  Everything went well and Fences is working great.  Double left click hides and shows the Fences.

However, when the fences are hidden, a middle click will un-hide them.  A second middle click does nothing.  Double left click will then hide fences, but a subsequent middle click un-hides them.

Love all the new features!!

Thanks,

David

I'm guessing you have another program that shows the icons on middle click. I have a few programs that use middle click.

Just a guess.

I do indeed, however, I closed it and the problem was still in evidence.  I then rebooted into a clean environment and the problem persisted.

Thanks Redneck Dude.

In the Quick-hide section of the Fences config, what do you have enabled?

Specifically, do you have the setting to show icons when the desktop is in use?  The middle-click will invoke that.

Thanks Zubaz, I do NOT have that option checked.  The only option checked in that section is the "Enabled" option.

AH HA! I just disabled the "Desktop Pages" option and unchecked all the options within that.  The problem has been solved.  I wouldn't have associated Desktop Pages with my problem, but disabling that has solved that problem.

I hope you don't mind that I throw in another issue.  I used to be able to right click on a shortcut icon (either folder or file) on my desktop and exclude it from hiding when I hid Fences.  That option 'seems' to be missing now.

On a file shortcut, or a real file, the option doesn't exist at all.  On a folder shortcut on the desktop, I get the "Show This Folder on the Desktop" twice in the right click context menu, but no 'exclude' option.

I have no idea if this is working as designed, but I'd like that option back.

Thanks for your help.

This is a bug.  Put the shortcut in a fence and set the option you want . . then move it outside a fence.  It should work as designed.

No joy, unfortunately.  The fence, with the file in it, doesn't hide, but as soon as I drag the file out of the fence, the file hides.

The exclusion option only works within a fence?  Very odd.
