New version skin browser crashing help pleeeeeeeeese

Me too, except mine ran fine on XP for a day or so, but last night it started crashing. As soon as I click on a skin name, the program just vanishes. There is no alert window or anything, it just disappears from the desktop and taskbar without a trace.

Do You both have the newest build of Window Blinds (ODNT build) installed ? I think, skinbrowser has some problems with it...

Yep myself as well, but when I download the update/update to WB's "3.31g" it seems to be ok now. Try the update to the update.

I think you're right c242. I've uninstalled the newest (beta) release of WindowBlinds (3.31h) and re-installed the "Released" 3.3 WindowBlinds. The skinbrowser now works fine.

Sorry about that, it's 3.31h to download, 3.31g was causing me all kinds of problems. I have fat fingers today.

I've got h and SB crashes everytime I try to access skins and themes. WinCustomize works fine for DL and all other aspects of SB are fine though.

Missed the 'h' release before my answer... Updated now and SB still works. You are right md2433, 'g' is a bit problematic.

Mine works fine now. I didn't change anything though. Maybe something was corrupted with the site updates I download last night.

I still crash when viewing new additions.

UPDATE* I have downloaded the 3.31h on my other notebook after having 3.31g on it yesterday with all the crashing. Well this ONE still is crashing trying to look or update the browser. Hmmmmm, works on one but not the other. Such as life in the beta world. I will backout of wb's 3.31h and go back to 3.3i on this one and I will report back. BTW, the other notebook is still working fine with 3.31h.

I switched back to 3.31. I have the impression, that it runs much smoother here.

The new browser works for me (better then sliced bread). Except for when I first sign on. It always comes up and says that I don't have an account and do I want to create one? And then when I go to my account on the browser it tells me not to create a new account if I already have an old one. (Catch-22) Anyway if I sign on there everything then works.

I uninstalled and reinstalled h and all is well now.



BTW, I had the same problem as HuronJoe re asking me if I wanted to create a new account. After the reinstall of WB 3.31h, that doesn't come up anymore either.

Nope, I lied. I can get skins & themes ok but I have HuronJoe's problem re logging in. Not a real pain but there it is.

It's like it's fine one minute, and will not let me do anything the next, and then fine, then the crash, then the fine. My head hurts. The big programers are going to have fun with this...

Have tried going back to 3.3 and it still crashes then tried 3.3i and it is still the same. It seems to drag down my ssytem resources to zero too. Wish i still had the old version working. Any more ideas folks:)

I have the same problem. It works fine as long as it's excluded from being skinned. It dies when viewing skins & themes when it is being skinned.

Excluding didn't work for me. A few hours back, I could get new uploads in skins and themes but no more. Damn thing changes its mind more often than I do socks!

I downloaded 3.31h after seeing this thread earlier and i've been problem free w/the Browser all day.

It's working right today (so far - I'm keeping my fingers crossed). I haved changed anything so either the admin's have adjusted something or I've been lucky so far.

Strange huh? My computer crashed yesterday, so I had to reinstall everything, guess what? the Skinbrowser just vanishes, poof. Just like that....it did not happen until I downloaded all the new versions. I have been saying this for a long time, everytime they come out with a new version, it is worse then the previous one....I will try some of the things that have been suggested here. I will check back..
