[0.981 bug] Explore never switches off.

One more bug I noticed from my last game (or perhaps just a too subtle UI) but once a unit has been set to explore it can never be switched off again. I noticed the only way to stop a unit exploring (temporarily - read on) was to get it into a group of units that had never been told to explore, but if I ever took it out of the army, off it would go on its own merry way once more, cheerfully ignoring my commands. Placing the unit on GUARD also could not prevent the explore behaviour conquering all... I am guessing this is a bug

Yea, it's funny, once you set them to explore, they are always exploring until you hit "explore" again to turn it off.  You could move them manually for 10 turns, set them to guard, but as soon as you look away, they are off exploring again.  But clicking explore a second time usually turns it off.

Ah, it is not just me then. I think that if you manually set a destination explore should toggle off.

That would be nice.

I also think that if the unit is on explore that something should be visibly toggled.

This problem still exists in 1.0.  Very annoying.  Just lost my units to it.

- There needs to be a visual marker on the unit and the icon in the unit list to show they are in "explore" mode.

- Any action on the players part needs to cancel explore.

- There needs to be a "Cancel Orders" button on the unit to also cancel any prior commands.

This issue still exists in 1.20

Any chance of an improvement to messaging or something? (It is very annoying)

I believe it still exists.  Needs to be a toggle to turn it off.

This bug also existed in GCII.

I still agree the autoexplore button needs work, at best it takes me the whole units turn to turn off (clicking explore many many times until I am sure it is off).

I wonder how hard it would be to implement... O_o
Until that, meaby I should ask Heavenfall for a mod that removes the explore button and hotkey...
Then again, I can't reaaaally complain about this until my game can run smoothly again :)

The bigger issue is that you can't tell at all whether they are in explore mode or not.

Which is basically also the only thing I would have fixed, because its easy to turn off once you know whether its on or off, since clicking once will then just tell you "Autoexplore, off". Instead of having to guess ;)
