Drag And Drop In Version 2

I just upgraded to V2.0 of Multiplicity for the drag and drop and sound support.

I have 3 Systems with a primary and two secondaries.  All 3 are running Windows 7 SP1 plus latest fixes.

The sound support on another PC works great, however there are a few occurrences where it will "hiccup" for a fraction of a second.

I cannot get drag-and-drop to work.  "Allow D&D" is enabled on the primary computer.  1)  When the mouse hits the edge of the screen of the originating (secondary) computer, it disappears and does not show up on the primary computer.  2)  When trying to D&D from the primary to a secondary, the mouse stalls at the edge of the screen and will not transfer to the secondary.

Do the systems need to be rebooted to change options?  Is there other places, outside of the primary, where D&D options need to be set? Is there anything else needed or should be done?

Thanks

Ralph Moses

You are dragging using the left mouse button rather than the right?

Regarding the sound, are you using a wired network, or wireless?

are all the computers on the same netqork?

What MP rules are in place in the firewall?

Computers are all on the same local network, a 1000 mbs wired network with one 8 port Trendnet switch between them.  Network traffic is light.  Systems are 1 hop apart. Network addressing 192.168.1.*.   Originating processor is a dual core AMD Athlon at 2.5GHz, receiving system is a 6 core AMD Phenom II.  Music player is Windows Media player.  Network load when playing a song runs about 200KBS

Tried using both left and right mouse buttons for D&D.  Source and target both Windows Explorer.

Thanks

My Drag and Drop doesn't work either - both computers in the same domain, explorer can see the shares on each machine.  What Firewall settings are you talking about - my firewall is turned off and most of McAfee is off.

Here's how I fixed cut and paste on my system:

The problem has to do with Windows Firewall rules and installation of previous versions of Multiplicity where the "install over" did not remove old FW rules.  Do this for each system.

1) Uninstall Multiplicity, then

2) Go to Control Panel ---> Windows Firewall ---> Advanced Settings ---> Inbound rules

3) Delete all Stardock.... and Multiplicity rules

5) Re-install Multiplicity.

Worked for me.  Hope it helps you.
