[0.980][annoyance] idle cities

Generally I love the feature where the turn won't end if a city is idle. However, in the later stages of the game there may be nothing I want to build or train. Now the fluidity of the game is stuffed as I have to continually click on the turn button.

Would it be possible to set a city to "idle"?, i.e., get auto turn working even though some cities are not working on anything in their build cue

I remember a reply on this from Derek. He specified that they would not be adding this idle production type as the current system works, but I agree with you that if people want to use auto turn then the cities need an idle setting. I can hope for something before release, but I'm not counting on it.

Aye we dont need an 'idle' type that give some sort of bonus. Which is what I think he was refering to. As when idle alot of stuff has bonuses anyway.

We do need an 'idle' that means, dont bother me, end the turn.

Exactly! There definitely should be a difference between "oops, I forgot to set something to build" versus "I'm intentionally idling my city because: a) I get a bonus of some sort for doing so, or b) it's the end of the game and I just really want this to end".

I love the fact that my idle cities tell me now, but it can also be annoying if you want to queue up a bunch of production and then after making one choice the turn advances because it's no longer idle. It would be nice if it waited until I clicked off of the city screen before advancing.

Is what I think too.
At least in the current system
