Some features I'd like to see in fences

Have been using Fences since it first came out and I am probably going to keep using it even when Windows 8 is here, For version 2 I have a couple of feature suggestions though:-

1) Sub-fences, like sub-folders so that I could click on an icon and have another fence open up with more icons inside.

2) Page changing is quite awkward with the mouse on a dual or triple monitor setup, can we have a shortcut button? I've enough of awkward mouse gestures with Windows 8, Yes I know the keyboard shortcuts are there but a little clickable button would be great too.

3) Add an option "move fence to page" and "copy fence to page" in the fence menu.

Keep up the great work Stardock software!

I don't think this will be implemented.  A Folder portal may be something to try.

Can you describe how this is awkward?  Are you using the both-button drag or one of the other methods?

What are you finding difficult with the drag to next page?

Copy a fence to a page and make a fence persistant across pages may be problematic . . but I'll pass it along.

1) Folder portals are OK, but a sub-fence would be better, you can't store a folder portal inside another fence. Fair enough if nobody else wants it I guess!

2) It's extremely awkward finding the correct spot with the mouse, half the time I end up picking up a window on the other monitor or something like that, a little push button that I could just press to flip back and forth between pages would be better.

3) I don't understand how I can drag a fence to another page at all. I tried picking it up with my mouse then pressing the alt-right keyboard shortcut but that didn't work.

2) If you use both buttons to drag left or right you can do it anywhere on the desktop.

3)drag your fence to the edge and hold it there.... BOOM! There you are on the new page with your fence.

Thanks for the tips very helpful especially number 2 above, I'd still like a quick copy or move to page option but at least I can work around it now.

Also, You can click the middle mouse button anywhere and drag left or right to change pages. No need to be anywhere near the edge of the screen.

Kind of neat with the page switching now that I've got things organized. I just make one giant fence for each page that I need like one giant fence to hold all the icons to games that I play, and one giant fence for all the programs that I want to keep shortcuts to, and then slide the pages so that when i want to play a game I just slide to the left, and when I want or need to start a program I slide to the right.  For me it's much easier to see what I'm looking for when I've only got one giant fence with the associated icons in it instead of looking at multiple fences and scrolling through those that are two small to show all of the icons.  Neat feature.

 

Anyway, to be more close to the topic, I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of buttons in my task bar or system tray, nothing fancy, just a left and right small buttons that I can click to slide to the left or right as if I want to scroll through a lot of pages it would be more convenient than holding down the middle mouse button to do it (yeah, I'm not really fond of hot keys).
