Alternate Victory Options

Hi everyone,

Like the most here we all Love Sins, but i have some issues with the more alternative victory options...
I like playing them because it can give the game a much more alternative gamestyle then more entrenchment att all times.

First the Research Victory:

This is incredibly cheap!!!
I completed it like this once and i don't felt like a winner but like an idiot...
When u read the descriptions of the upgrade you can see all three races talking about a doomsday device.
Would it not be far more challenging if u had to actualy build that after the upgrade is done? and also have both an upgrade on the warfare, civillian and deplimacy three. If u after these upgrades still have to built it, the other players should see on wich planet and they can all go an try to stop u. After this building is completed let there be a 10 min victory delay so you can have an actually end fight.
Now that would be a research victory no?

Second Occupied Victory:

Very well done i absolutly like this one! But why does it always have to be the same force that's defending it?

Third Flagship Vitcory:

Also very well done but the seize of the flagship could have been at least doubled, I don't get the impression this is an actual flagship that should represent your empire, it is more "hmm it's here somewhere... ow there is the tiny ship..."

Fourth Capital Last Standing:

Again very nice but:
-Why wouldn't you be able to move it? It could be more time taking and more expensive to move it but why not move it att all?
-Perhaps after it has been taken you should have a 5-10 min time to retake it, since you have to be able to respoind to a threat.
-Again to increase respond time the planet's HP should have been doubled

Diplomatic Victory:

Yeah sorry but i don't get it...
How can someone win a game by completing a number of missions for another player?
I should say skip this one, unless...
It could be more fair/challenging if some unknow force gives missions to all players and the first who completes it gets the points.
Perhaps then i might like it but now its a bit silly.

Allied Victory:

I suppose why not, if u are playing with friends (example 2vs2) If one team has won they shouldn't have to kell each other to before the game is ended and making the other wait and wait and wait. A Wise decission to keep this option on/off.

I am very curious how you other guys think about these suggestions.
And might i also inform that i LOVE this game and i am certainly not willing to give a lot of critic, just these things could have been worked out a little better.
If someone has more questions feel free to pm me

Since you asked:

Research:  The change you want for the Research Victory already exists in the form of Superweapons:  The Novalith, Kostura, and Deliverance Engine.

Occupation:  What do you mean same force?  I haven't tried this one so I don't really know how it works.

Flagship:  I agree they could have made a new model for it.  As it is now, it's just the Battleship for each race, with different abilities.  A new model would make it easier to pick out in a fleet, but that's not necessarily a good thing if you're playing vs a bomber fleet that wants it dead.

Capitol:  This one I like how it is now.  The capitol victory, to me, is supposed to represent a factions Homeworld.  If that is lost, the game ends.

Diplomatic:  I bought Diplomacy, and Still to this day do not understand exactly how to win a diplomatic victory.  To me, it just adds a new thing to the game while I am wiping out fleets.

Allied:  I like this.  What's the point in team games if you're just going to have to turn on eachother once you wipe out the other side.  You have to do the whole push all over again.

Yep but the superweapons don't win the game, at all. i suggested this because i like late game end battle rushes. the one every rts singleplayer campaign has could be in every game of sins also that's why building a superweapon to unleash teh reschearch victory would make it better, now it's just a technology and the only way to stop them is to destroy science stations wich can be plenty to built + this technologie for winning the game is VERY cheap its just a bit more then a titan.

Occupation: this is in every game wich it has been turned on, another star system is created with one terran planet wich is occupied heavely by vasari rebel forces (starbase titan tactical structures and some fregates). but this is always that same force. It would be better to randomize it cuzz now you know exactly what force to take there and otherwise you would have to explore it first.

Flagship: agreed but a new model is not realy required just make that ship twice as big and it's also fine.

Capital: indeed but u can lose your capital very easy by the flanks so i think it would be more realistic if the planet has way more hp or when you lose it you should get a 5-10 min timer to retake it: by example the novaltih fired three times in a row can guarantee capital defeat wich is just sad... same with kostura and sending a huge fleet in while that player's fleet is on the other side of the map.

Diplomatic: never won it but checked it out:
You can give other player missions, send envoys to them wich do ability's to planets and stuff and you can make pacts.
All off these things has a value that is been added to a score meter: the first ones that gets it full wins (you can see this in the global screen where u see how other races like each other). But stil there is not a single logical explanation how this could win a game and that's my prob.

Allied: simply agreed :)

Capital:  More HP, I agree completely.  The homeworld should have double the HP of a normal planet of its type.  Both to justify the population bonus, and give you that one last chance to defend yourself if you're being bombed.

Diplomatic:  It's supposed to be a way to win a war through non-violent means.  Basically, negotiations and what-not.  The problem is, I don't agree that anyone should really LOSE in a Diplomatic Victory...

Yep, that's why i think perhaps a random mission generator would give player missions themself and the first who can complete such missions gets the points.
for example firts who pays 1000 credits...
first who destroys 25 fregats
first who takes over a planet, kill civillian structures and so on

That would at least be playable now it's just rubbish
