Norton Insight rates FE 0.952_update as a "medium risk"

Tried to download the 0.952 update to my 0.950 installation... and Norton 360 Insight REMOVED it from the computer before I could even run it!

I can't even find the info about this file now, so it's been removed.  It had some kind of a "WS.Reputation.1" virus or something like that.

Any ideas if it has a problem of some kind?

OK, I found the data on the file.

Norton rates the file with a "Reputation: BAD" and says the following...

What is really a shame is... I can't find any way to restore this file!  From all appearances, Norton is just "concerned" that the file MIGHT be bad, and just automatically trashed it!  Seems like there should be a way for me to OVERRIDE that decision, or at least... reverse it?

Any ideas on how this Norton Insight works, or how I can turn it off?

Uninstall Norton would be the solution to this, if I may be a bit rude.

Well, I managed to turn off Norton Insight, and downloaded the patch again...

AND NORTON DELETED IT AGAIN!

So I had to completely disable Norton AntiVirus to get it to leave the file alone.  From the report above, there were no viruses detected... just seems like not enough people have applied this patch to suit Norton! :)

This is why I don't use antivirus software. It's a total pain. I tried such software back in the day, and continually got false alarms on games. I've never gotten a virus in my life, and I regularly scan my computer. Active antivirus software uses computing resources, and is a hassle. User error is 99% of all viruses. I simply know how to browse the web safely.

Norton is an idiot.  I say this as someone who has Norton on my computer.  You did the right thing.

Don't you have a setting for Norton that requires it to ask before it quarantines or deletes any files?
