Upgrades and iMacs

I have them!

I am doing a major upgrade of my PC today, the rest of my upgrades have finally arrived!! I have a new MSI motherboard, new CPU (Core i3), 8Gb of corsair RAM and a new SSD. I hope to get all this up and running today with a fresh install of 7 Ultimate (sod that Windows H8).

I also have an iMac now!!!! That should arrive this week. I have never used one, but I thought I might as well give it a go. It's not a brand new one, but it will be ok to see whether I like the "Mac experience".......

I'll report back when I have had a play with it. :) B[]

Take a look at the MSI Easy Viewer BoXXI. Major WOW factor! I have it on my main rig. It works great with a mouse, no touchscreen needed.

It is available through MSI LIve Update or online but it only works with MSI mobos.

I was going to go that way a while back because I'd never tried one, either, but given my niece's recent poor treatment by Apple, the strict proprietary branding creating cross-platform issues, and Apple becoming lunatic litigants suing everybody but the inventor of the wheel [but give them time], I am liking Apple less and less.

I read just before that a judge has ruled that Samsung infringed on Apple's intellectual property and that it will cost Samsung a billion big ones.  Now while that may not seem so significant to some, it sets a dangerous precedent for all manufacturers of smart phones and tablets.  Apple was recently awarded 105 + smart technology patents, which analysts say will stifle competition and open doors to swathes of litigation instigated by Apple, against companies like Nokia, Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung and many, many others.

Yes, Apple will increase its market share, but not by fair means or producing the best product.  No, Apple will increase its market share by stifling all opposition and putting the shackles on.... making sure it has the only 'innovative' and viable technology on the market.  Worse still, Apple's overworked and underpaid Chinese workers will keep dying because profit will always cancel out workers rights and better conditions.

Talk about evil... Apple is the AntiChrist of the tech world.

I'll be buying a Mac in a few weeks, once my tax is done. I use them all the time and W8 is a good excuse to have one at home. Setting it up as a graphic workstation, everything else can stay with my PCs.

Agreed, I believe that lady winning the hot coffee suit against McDonalds was the exclamation point on the stupidity of our system, and it has been going downhill since.
