[95 question] Steal Spirit?

Is there a Death Magic equivalent?

If not doesn't Spirit stealing seem like something that should be in the Death School rather than life?

I only ask as after seeing the spell while I was playing a Kingdom game, thinking thats not somethig my Goodly Soveriegn would do (didn't clock it was life magic at the time). I started a new game as an Empire race Custom Sov with the Roleplay intent of playing a Sovereign who would hoard his power by stealing the spirit of any magic using magelike champions (warriors with single magic spheres I already know get a pass). To my dismay no such spell that I can see anyway, leaving my planned mage Sov a master in Death magic with no means of branching out in other magics. Had I known I would of done things a lot differently. Enjoying the game so don't want to restart but thinking I may have to with no viable way of get my Sov more magic schools.

Agreed with you on semantics.  Now call it Martyrdom instead.  Bam!  ^_^

Personally I think this was a mistake, espeically given that procipinee starts with enchanters (those books that teach spells), which isn't nearly as good when you consider life magic now has the means to steal spells already.

And as mentioned above, steal spirit does not seems like something a good nationed wizard would do. Even if they changed the name to reflect a personal sacrifice on the part of the champion this should still really be available to death wizards.

I hope they don't take the ability away from life mages, I like this spell because it restricts your champion selection but gives one powerfull mage, call it what you want, if I want the story/flavour to be different I personally can imagine a different story in my head :D
