Loading From Save Problem

Hi, I just bought GalCiv2: Ultimate Edition on Steam, and am having several very annoying problems with the game.  They all seem to center around the game changing the past when I load from a save file.  My Lucky Ranger an associated fleet disappeared, my orbital command center disappeared, borders changed, technologies seem to have changed, and generally there is a baffling lack of consistency when I load up a saved game.  Any way to fix this?  Thanks.

  Are you loding from an autosave or one you saved manually?

I've never had differences from a manual save,  and nothing as severe as losing fleets.

Does the game state match what it was at some point in the past? Are you absolutely sure you're loading the same save and not an older one? (Ignore the borders, those are not saved and get recalculated on the first turn after load, if I remember correctly)

I did a reinstall and it seems to have resolved the problem.  There were definite game state changes that did not match prior states, but matched what things would look like absent random events on reloads of the right save file.  Just a weird glitch I guess.
