Stardock Roadmap??

all this talk about WB3.3 and DX1.1 coming out has made me kinda curious. Can we perhaps get some sort of product roadmap with an idea of when a few key builds of products are gonna be out?

like for instance windowfx 2.x?
windowblinds 3.x with uis3?
windowblinds 3.x+1 with native vector format for uis3?
windowblinds 3.x+2 with smart bars and examples?
skincast 0.x?

was just wondering and seeing if any of these have fallen by the way-side or something...hope not, can't wait till windowfx comes out myself

Hi Mephisto!

I'll see what I can put together. But all road maps are usually announced in Stardock Magazine first. Not sure if you subscribed to that or not.

BTW, don't underestimate your influence on the scheduling. What things would you like to see and in what order?

That's how I feel too.

Windowfx that is faster then the old version.

That skin/component browser sounds interesting.

actually we already have smart bars in the current window blinds. its just that finding someone who has worked out how to use them is a little tricky

as for the schedule, there are two things i would love to see:

plug in support for OB

hot key support for DX

and then of course, hot key support for plugins, so that i can use hot keys on my complex OB theme at work, and (even more) hot keys on my fun DX objects at home. the SD player looked outstanding, but i loath mouse only interfaces to programs *shrug*

i dont mind if hotkey support is via a plugin its self, so long as i can wire it up.

While we're on the subject of plugins, I'd like to see updates to those tired old WindowBlinds plugins. I know the plugins themselves aren't created by Stardock, but it would be nice to see Stardock put together some nice new plugins to fill the gap that currently exists.

the idea is that this is going to happen, with new types of smart bar (buttons) being released.

of course you need a skin that supports them before you can use them
